Chapter 51 - Surrogacy

LONDON'S POV

The air in the room felt heavy and stale as I sat alone, my thoughts swirling like a storm. James had told me that George had left earlier to attend to some matters when I had visited his office to deliver the news. I was surprised to find the room empty, my heart sinking with disappointment.

"He must be busy," I reasoned, trying to quell the growing unease in my chest. "I'm sure he'll be back soon."

As I sat there, my mind became consumed with curiosity about where George might be. Despite my efforts to convince myself that he was likely just spending time with his friends, I couldn't suppress the uneasy feeling that perhaps he was with Charlotte, his mistress.
