Charlotte's pov

It's been five hours now since I've been waiting for my mum to come back from wherever she went, and it's already 8pm. Where could she have gone in this city without returning home? Did Mrs Fiona tell her that I wasn't alone and that I was with Tyler? I started having some rational thinking and I didn't know what to conclude. I always feel anxious when I pick up my phone to call her.

I was in my room, contemplating how I would face my mum when she returned, when I heard Tyler's voice calling me.

"Honey..." he knocked on my door.

"Please come inside," I said, and he pushed the door open and entered.

"Where has your mum been? It's already night. When are you going to call her and ask where she's been?"
