Chapter 17

I heard the emotion in his voice, and although I didn't know where we were, the emotion seeped through me as well. I smiled as we got out of the car. Then I looked at the building in front of me. It was something like a cross between a church and a normal house. The gardens were immaculately maintained and I could hear low chatter within.

Pierre walked over to me and squeezed my hand in his. My breath hitched, and I looked down to where our fingers were intertwined.

'Is this a church?' I asked as we walked to the place.

- Somehow. Pierre replied vaguely, making me scowl. I chose not to respond, instead I just wanted to wait and see what it was.

As soon as we entered the building, I heard collective screams. — Pierre!
