14 A New Home

Kayla's POV

After finding a satisfactory job, my top priority became searching for a suitable apartment to move out of the hotel. However, as I traversed more than a dozen blocks and finally settled on a few convenient locations with decent daycare facilities, the rental prices left me speechless. The apartments within my budget were either in remote areas or lacked community security.

I hesitated, unable to make up my mind. The agent who had accompanied us throughout the day seemed to sense my dilemma, and impatience was written all over his face. In response, I could only offer an apologetic smile and softly ask, "Excuse me, are there any other options?"

As expected, the agent ruthlessly dismissed my request, adding a mocking tone, "You don't even have money. Why are you bothering to look for a place? You might as well sleep on the streets!"

Because of this comment, Daisy, who had initially been excited, returned to the hotel with a glum expression. "Mommy, are we not moving anymore
