Chapter 62

Jessica walked into the hospital. The smell of antiseptic hung heavily in the air. She went to the reception and met several nurses there. It was a very big hospital with different departments.

"Good afternoon, ma'am, how may I help you?" the nurse she approached asked.

"I am here to see Dr. Richard Anderson, the orthopedic hand surgeon," Jessica replied. As soon as the words left her mouth, the nurse's eyes lit up, "Are you Dr. Jessica?" she inquired excitedly.

Jessica was a bit thrown aback; it had been quite a while since someone addressed her as Dr. Jessica. Just the mere thought of how long it had been made her eyes misty.

"I am Dr. Jessica," she repeated the words in a bid to hear them one more time, wanting to know how it would feel coming out of her own mouth. It felt great, just as she had imagined it would.
