29| The fight

Crimson blood scattered on the ground and Amara's painful scream rang in the air, its echo resounding in the desolate silence. Her face turned pale and a few drops of blood landed on her face, tainting her skin with crimson.

Her tear-filled gaze locked onto Killian, his jaw was clenched tightly as he held his arm. His right arm was relentlessly bleeding where the bullet had found its mark, piercing through his skin brutally.

His eyes snapped to her and she flinched, the blood making her take a step back in fear. She watched as a glint passed through his eyes, something very close to fear which was surprising since Killian Suvillian doesn't fear anyone or anything. A yelp left her mouth when he yanked her towards him, causing her to lose her balance and fall on his chest. He held her in a protective embrace and shifted her aside immediately, hiding behind a pillar. At the same time, another bullet fired through the air and she realised this time the target was her.
