WHITNEY'S POV

I was trembling with trepidation as my brother unfolded the test result and gazed at it. At first, he had an impassive countenance but within a split second, he looked horrified and confused. Then he raised his head and we made eye contact. His eyes were filled with pain and his brow creased in confusion.

"Whitney, what is the meaning of this?" he asked in an emotionally laden voice that did not sound like his voice.

I gazed at him in confusion. I didn't know how to respond to his question. I tried to speak but my lips suddenly became too heavy for me and no sound came from my mouth. I was staring at him like someone in a trance. Instantly, tears welled up in my eyes.

"Whitney, I just asked you a question. I said what is the meaning of this? Is this the test result you brought from the hospital?" he asked with an icy tone that made me shiver.
