Whitney's Brother's Suspicion

WHITNEY'S POV

Martin and I made eye contact and he gazed at me for some seconds before his eyes swept to Henry. He looked uneasy as Martin stared at him with a deadpan face.

"Hello, Martin," he greeted him.

"Hi, what are you doing here?" Martin asked as he sauntered into the room holding a paper bag.

"I was about to go out when I saw Whitney in the hallway looking downcast. I asked her what is wrong and she told me she is alright. I felt she needed some company, so, I offered to keep her company for some minutes but she refused. I insisted before she eventually succumbed and I followed her here," Henry replied.

"I see. That was thoughtful of you. I appreciate it," Martin said.

"It's my pleasure," he replied.

Henry turned to look at me and said, "Whitney, I will see you tomorrow."

"Alright, take care," I said.

He smiled at me and nodded at Martin before he left the room shutting the door behind him.

For a moment, I gazed at the closed door and I was suddenly overwhelmed with sorrow
