Chapter 138

Athena stood before her subjects. Most of them were commoners and a few of them were among the elites. They all stood before the King in the hall as they wondered why they weren't outside, in front of the field where offenders were commonly executed.

She was unsmiling and as soon as she cleared her throat, everyone focused their attention on her.

"I understand that you all are talking about the execution and all. Why am I not outside addressing you all before the offender. That's because I have decided that he will not be killed anytime soon,"

Damien looked at Athena in surprise and the others began to talk in whispers about how ridiculous it was to extend the life of an offender but Athena didn't care. Knowing that her reasons were valid, she waited till the murmur had died down.
