Chapter 157

It was time for dinner. Everyone sat in their respective seats. Heyli made sure she sat at the fsr end of the dining table, away from Athena and her intense stare.

Alex was seated beside her and he was dressed in a cravat. Ciara sat beside her husband, close enough to Athena's seat at the head of the table.

"Heyli," Alex called. "Why are you seated there?"

Heyli shook her head. "No reason. I was just led to this place, nothing much,"

Alex nodded. "If that's what you want."

Alex had been nothing but nice to her. More like her nice Uncle back in the days. Her Uncle Tarantino used to visit twice a year and each time he came, he would sneak in a lot of candies into her room as he was aware of how cruel her father was to her.

Uncle Tarantino was her father's younger brother so he really had no say in whatever he was doing as her father had bullied him when they were younger.

One time, he had asked to take her into custody and Heyli was so excited. She wa
