As soon as Heyli left, Alex and Athena turned to Loki. "Take a seat with us," Alex said and gestured to the cane chairs arranged at the corner. They all walked there and each of them took their respective seats. Loki felt really relaxed as he had not taken a freaking breather the whole day. His arms rested on the arm rest of the chair and he felt like passing out there. "Tell us what happened," Athena said. "Well, I had been following them throughout their journey, tryin to stay hidden as much as possible. I had no idea she was shape shifting. In Fact, I didn't know when they got attacked by a senior team warrior so I didn't get there on time." "I heard that she was shot with a tranquilizer." "Yes, she was. To make her fall asleep because she killed someone," "What?!" Athena said and rose to her feet. "Calm down, Athena," "I wasn't informed!" Alex nodded and took her hand. He pulled her down to sit. "There's nothing you can do about it
Loki, after spending some time alone at the porch decided that maybe this was his destiny. To protect Heyli. As he walked into the palace, he remembered a certain time when he was told by the Shaman that he would be the protector of a great person and he was warned to guard his heart. Was it Heyli she talked about? Loki shook his head. He wasn't sure. Heyli didn't come close to being a great person. Yes, she must have been lucky to find favor in the King's sight, but that was all. "You're Loki?" A man standing at the foot of the steps said. Loki nodded. "Of course." The man nodded and gestured for him to take the staircase. "I'm the one showing you to your room. Were you informed by the King?" Loki nodded. "Yes, I was," The man nodded and followed Loki up the steps. He was a quiet old man, with receding gray hair and a hunched form. Loki wondered what he was still doing here as a porter. They walked through the corridor and past Heyli's roo
Heyli woke up the next morning with intense body pain. She began to groan as she tried to turn herself on the bed. Her upper body was so stiff and she could barely raise her arms. Her neck hurt and her arms felt like a bulldozer had ran over it. She relaxed back on the bed and opened her eyes. She was in her room and for a moment, she felt her heart lunge but then, she relaxed. If they wanted her dead, they would have done it by now. They were probably going to execute her but for now, she was alive and that was all that mattered. But how the hell was she going to stand up from here! She tried again. She lifted her right arm a few centimeters above the bed and felt her joints crack. She groaned and lifted the other arm which gave off the same sound. She knew she wouldn't be able to sit up so she painfully rolled to the other side of the bed and dropped one leg down. Still painful but she could endure this one. Her arms were starting to loosen so sh
Athena was awake early and she sat in the drawing room, having a cup of tea. Damien was seated before her. "How is the speech going to go?" He asked as he looked at her intently. "I already wrote something. You can read through it," Athena said and handed the paper over to him. Damien took it from her and looked down at the paper. He raised his brows. "This sounds good but quite controversial. We have to convince them, not force it on them," Athena shook her head and gently placed her teacup on the saucer. "Do they look like they can be convinced? A whole pack who was terrorized by a pack of Kanimes? It'll be quite hard for them to be convinced that she's harmless. We have to come up with something they would agree to. " Athena took the paper from his hand and placed it on the table. "If they're going to hear me out, then they will understand. But if they will not, then they'll have to take it the hard way," "Your majesty," Damien said looking really wor
Nina, Melodie and Kayla trooped in along with othet pack members of Antarti. They were all here to listen to what the King had to say. "Can you guess what she's going to say to us?" Melodie asked Nina as she snaked her arm around Nina's. "It's obvious why she wants to address us after what happened yesterday," Nina said. "I want to know if Heyli's fine. I'm worried about her. After yesterday, I really wanted to see her but she didn't return. Are you sure she's still alive? Loki must've killed her," Melodie said in a panicked tone. "Shut the hell up. You talk too much," Kayla said in annoyance. "I just want to know if she's safe. That's all," Nina turned to face Nina and grabbed her by the arm. "You must never. I mean, never talk to her. She's not our friend. She lied to us about her identity. I'm sure there's a lot more we don't know. A true friend would let us know who she really is. " Melodie frowned. She turned to Kayla who acted line she didn't
Athena made sure she touched every topic she had planned on doing. There was a bit of an uproar when she mentioned that Heyli would continue training with the junior team. Someone had yelled about how dangerous it was and she had totally ignored them and also Damien who was looking at her to clarify things. "I don't have to clarify things. If they don't trust me enough to assure them safety, then they should live in fear." After the announcement, Athena wished the people good luck and reminded them of the Royal Hunting Ceremony that would be commencing in about a month's time. She left the porch, not minding if people were speaking openly about how much of a dictator she was. She found Heyli standing in the room that led to the porch and at the door stood Loki. His arms were folded before him. She walked towards Heyli. "Heyli, are you good? Loki told me about your situation and I immediately sent a chiropractor to you," "I've always been a weapon
"Are you sure you want to face them now?" Loki asked. "You can always go there another time, when it has all died down," Heyli was already dressed up in dark ripped jeans and a hoodie to cover her face. That was to protect her from being seen by people. She needed to stay away from the public eye as much as possible. "I want to go today. I really need to see them. I've been lying to them since I knew them and it wouldn't be funny or nice if I left them hanging," Loki nods. "If that's what you want. You'll have to be careful though. So no one sees you," Heyli frowned. "I thought we were going together?" Loki laughed. "Everyone knows I'm your guardian. They're not stupid. When they see me walking with anyone, they automatically think you're the one." Heyli, who had been feeling confident, was suddenly nervous. She thought he was going to go with her but now that he wasn't, she wasn't sure she was going to do it. "I can't." "You can," Loki said. He sou
Heyli went fully into freak out mode. She pulled back the hoodie to cover her face but it was already too late. Kayla's eyes widened in horror and when Melodie tried to pull her away, Harrison took a hold of Heyli's arm. Her hoodie was pulled back down. Now, she was standing before everyone and they were all looking at her. "Do you think you can escape us? Why are you hiding from us, huh?" Harrison said as he stared her down. Heyli had never seen him act this rude. She had always made sure to stay far away from him but today, he was being downright disrespectful. "I am not hiding from anyone," Heyli said with the tiny bit of confidence she had mustered up. Harrison turned back to look at his boys and they all laughed. "Kanime, huh?" Kayla stepped forward and drew Heyli behind her. "I thought I warned you to stay out of my business?" "Heyli isn't your business. You're your own business," Harrison said as he looked at her in disdain. Melodie stepped up. "She's our business
