As soon as Heyli stepped down from the car, she began to look around the monstrous beauty before her. There was a castle standing before her and beside the castle were arrays of mansions and buildings, carved and painted in the most beautiful designs and colors. Whoever had built this place was really skilled. Loki came up to stand behind Heyli. He watched the building with her. "You look enthralled." Heyli turned to look at him. "Yes! I am. More than enthralled, even. Jim, take a look. Antarti doesn't beat this place by thirty percent. Look at the roads, the electricity, the communication mediums and everything. It speaks of class and advancement." "Of course, it is. You're really excited about this," "Not excited, Loki. Just, mesmerized." "So mesmerized that you totally forgot that you and I were not in talking terms?" Loki said with a smirk. Heyli immediately remembered that they weren't in talking terms. Wait. How did he get to the car? She thought he left with
Athena and Alexander were led to the area where King's and Queen's were assembled. It seemed like they were all waiting to be assigned to their various rooms. The room was filled with glam. Everyone was dressed like they were attending a party. Women held fans and their arms were in their mate's crooked hands. Some ladies talked in groups and Athena knew they were princesses. Then she has an idea. "Alexander," Athena called. He turned to look at her. He had been looking at the podium before him like he was waiting for his savior to emerge from there. "Heyli should be here with us, right? She should be assigned to a room with one of the princesses. That way, she can make friends easily," Alex shook his head. "No. You know Heyli wouldn't agree. She would want to be with her friends, you know? Besides, you're not supposed to be saying this. You don't even like people and Heyli isn't good with people. Didn't expect this from you," Athena sighed. Alexander was right. "I just
"This bed is so big and bouncy! Just like yours, Heyli," Melodie said as she jumped on the bed and flailed her legs. Heyli and Kayla were both busy checking the large room out. There were cushions in a small living room adjoined with the main room. "There's even a fireplace and a coffee table," Heyli said in wonder as she walked towards the fireplace. The fire was out but she stood there watching in wonder. "I've never seen a real fireplace. This is my first time," Kayla came to stand beside her. "We don't usually have fireplaces because we live in a hit region. We always invite the cold that invalidate the use of a fireplace." "Before I came to Antarti, we lit bonfires of different sizes. Mini bonfires for inside the house and large bonfire outside," Heyli placed the flat of her palms on the mantelpiece and felt the marble coldness of it. "Jeez, it feels so good." Melodie came from the other room. "Do you think all other rooms are like this or we got lucky?" Kayla turned to he
"Let's go sightseeing?" Heyli was just stepping out of the bathroom when Melodie made this announcement. Melodie had come here with so much energy and it was too much for Heyli who wanted to do nothin but rest and avoid seeing anyone. "Why don't we rest this evening and do something tomorrow?" Suggested and Kayla nodded. "We don't have to go sightseeing immediately. A lot of people will be out doing the same thing." "That's where the fun is, actually," Kayla said and looked at Heyli. "That way, we'd meet new people." "And again, tomorrow, the games begin. Nobody will be allowed to tour except if you want to be locked up for being a spy even if you're not." Heyli sat on the bed with an ivory towel wrapped around her. She didn't feel the need to go out and that was because she was avoiding a few people. "You both can go but I don't think I can join you guys," "Why?" Kayla and Melodie asked in unison. They were both looking at her with a frown on their faces. "
Heyli was fully dressed now and when Kayla and Melodie opted for combat outfit, she nearly cried. "Why are you both dressed differently?!" Heyli cried. Melodie shrugged. "Because we're warriors and you're a princess." "You shouldn't have brought me with you guys, then. I should have gone with Athena and placed with someone else. I came here not to be a princess but a warrior!" Kayla winced at how loud Heyli sounded. Their friend was not happy and she looked like she wanted to tear this dress off her body. "I suddenly don't want to go anywhere," Heyli said and began walking into the room. Kayla and Melodie exchanged looks and rushed after her. Heyli was really upset. "Heyli," Kayla said and grabbed her by the arm. Heyli jerked away from her hold. "Don't touch me. You both can go have fun while I sit here sulking." "You can always have fun with us," Kayla said and knelt before Heyli who was not seated on the bed. "Dressed like this?!" She said and gestured
"I don't feel comfortable in this dress," Heyli said as they went down the steps. When they got to the hallway, Melodie stopped walking and grabbed her arms. "You don't have to be comfortable in this dress. This is who you are and yours going to get used to it someday," "Are you sure?" "Now, don't ask me that," Melodie said and Heyli burst into laughter. "I hate you, girl." "I think you need a distraction from Loki. I feel like you're going to meet a nice, handsome man today and he's going to sweep you off your feet and Loki is going to be jealous and he's going to regret ever making you feel this way," "He didn't make me feel any way. He's just dealing with a lot." "Now, you're beginning to support him?" Kayla looked at me in shock. Heyli shrugged. " I mean, he's going through a lot right now and all I can do is understand." "I don't think this is you talkin, Heyli. You're probably under the influence of a demon." Melodie said. "A medium," Kayla added
Athena was alone in the suite as Alexander had left with Damien to attend to some things. All she thought about was how she was going to survive. She had collected a pamphlet from one of the guards just to kill boredom and that was how she saw all the games they would be participating in. Combat games, climbing and hunting games and even games that had you at the mercy of your opponent or your opponent at your mercy. She didn't feel comfortable. Infact, she didn't think she was going to participate and she also didn't want Heyli to participate. Heyli was lucky that she had joined the junior team. That was a bonus as she was going to be exempted from the games. But she still felt like she needed to inform Heyli about it. Standing to her feet, she slipped her feet into her pumps and proceeded to the door of her room. She didn't want to encounter Alex on the way and luckily for her, she didn't. She saw Loki when she got to the large double doors that served as an
Heyli walked around aimlessly. She had nowhere to go but deep down, she knew she was looking for a certain fair-haired, green-eyed boy walking with a group of boys his age. But she saw nobody that looked like him. Everyone was busy looking around and talking to their friends or just standing and doing nothing. Nina was among the people standing alone and doing nothing and immediately Heyli saw her, she looked for ways to avoid her without being seen. When she successfully passed behind her, she saw a concession stand where drinks were being shared and out of curiosity, she walked towards the stand. She was glad that she didn't recognize a soul in the group of people standing in the line and one of the girls even smiled at her. She politely returned the smile and joined the line. Craning her neck she tried to see what drinks were being handed out to the people. Colored drinks. Weird. She had never seen drinks of variant colors. The only colors she had seen
