Chapter 153: Rise of Power

“HERE, young master,” said Maxine as she handed August a big, brown envelope.

It made August cringe a bit. Envelopes traumatized him now, given how horrible his experiences are when someone gave him those.

Still, August took it because he wanted answers.

‘What could it be this time?’ asked August at the back of his mind. He took the first thing he touched inside the envelope and pulled it.

It was a picture, and as August glanced at it, the shock registered in his eyes. It didn’t take him a second to recognize who was in the photo.

“This is—”

“You,” said Charles, finishing August’s sentence. “It’s me beside you. I told you before that we love walking into this garden, didn’t I?”

August didn’t respond. Suddenly, he felt a mild headache that made him wince. Some of his childhood memories inside the Remington mansion filled his mind, but it was still vague.

“Are you okay?” asked Maxine.

She was about to approach August when the latter waved his hand, dismissing her move. Maxine only nod
