Francis turned his head sideways to see who was the bastard who dared to hold his wrist, and his brows furrowed as August’s intimidating gaze locked against his.

“Let her go,” August commanded as he glanced at Fiona, who looked nervous like a puppy as she stared at her owner.

“I’m just talking with her about something. Why would I let her go?” The side of Francis’ lips rose as his hold on Fiona’s jaw tightened. “Besides, I saw a mosquito landing on her face. I’m just a concerned citizen who will kill the mosquito for him.”

His glance moved onto Fiona before he spoke again. “Right, Fiona?”
