Chapter 143- Call of the Siren

Remiel’s POV

(Moments before his spell was complete)

Power swirls around me as the last few words of the spell are finished being chanted from my lips. An agonizing pain crashes into my chest as it feels like something is being ripped from my body, flying away through the air.

My body crumples to the floor, the remaining power within my body barely a whisper of what it once was. Uncle Luc rushes over to me, concern etched into every line of his worried face. Laying down flat on the library floor, I let out a few deep breaths to steady my racing heart.

“We did it.” I tell Uncle Luc, turning to him with excitement in my eyes. Uncle Luc’s worried eyes wander over my form, but I ignore the disapproval buried within them. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for Jamari, and giving her my power temporarily while I’m locked in this place is a small token of my love for her.
