My head whips up at the confession Lachesis just made, my eyes widening in surprise. The Fates were the ones responsible for keeping Kenji and I apart the last four years?

Anger radiates off of Kenji, his shifting to black obsidian as Ren pushes to the surface, his power swirling around us. “Explain.” They growl as one.
