The weight of Elena's words stayed with me, filling the air between us with a heavier sort of gravity. I looked down at my wine glass, now only half full, and then back at her.

"So how does all this translate in the human world? I mean, with a Luna mark and everything?" I questioned, fidgeting with the stem of the glass.

Elena's gaze softened. "Honey, you can choose to interact with the human world as much or as little as you want. The mark is a symbol among us, not something that requires you to sever ties with the world you knew."
