My arms stretch out to my sides and the feel of empty cold sheets meet my hands. Sitting up in the bed I pout at the spot that is usually taken up by my Dark God. He rarely leaves without saying goodbye. Flopping back on my pillow I try to choke down the nerves that are building in my body. Tonight is the night of the Winter Solstice Ball. Tonight is the night that Erebus has decided to introduce me to his pack, to the city as his mate and Luna. My mind is swirling with what ifs. What if the lycans don’t accept me? What if they notice that I bear Erebus’s mark, but he doesn’t bear mine? Should I mark him before the ceremony? Do we mark each other during the ceremory? What exactly is customary in lycan ceremonies?

My head is swirling with so many questions that I begin to develop a migraine. There is only one person that can put these feelings at ease, and he isn’t here by my side. Throwing my feet over the edge of the bed I rush to the closet and throw on the first
