I held my breath, unsure of how Micah would react to my crazy idea, but it was the only option I could see working in the long run.

Animosity would brew between the both of us if we competed for Rune’s attention separately, and I had a feeling she wouldn’t be easy to win over.

While I couldn’t think of anyone else that I would rather do something like this with, I could also understand if my friend didn’t want to attempt something so out of the ordinary. I didn’t know how it would work out for us, but I couldn’t shake how natural everything had felt between us all earlier today.
