029: "It Was That Time OF The Year Again."

[Enzo’s Point of View]

It was 1 a.m. and it was that time of year again. That time of the year that has always been a constant reminder of the past I didn't know if I wanted to forget or not.

Staring up at the ceiling without blinking felt like watching a replay of my life as memory after memory flashed before my eyes, making my chest clench and ache, and instead of melting, I could feel my heart freezing over as I remembered the pain in her eyes as she tried to hide the fact that she was hurting. Despite the bruises on her body, she always had a smile on her face.

I nearly thought she was okay because of how well she could conceal her pain.

Finally looking away from the colorless ceiling, I rolled out of bed at 2 p.m. letting my feet touch the ground as I walked over to the couch, picking up the sweatshirt and slipping it over my head.
