Seventy

When I approach one of the vans, there's a familiar scent. I watch as the others run past me to get to the vans. 

"Wait!" I call out. 

"Mars, we have to move," Jayk growls.

"There's something wrong. Do you smell that?" 

"Blood?" 

"No, plaster. It's-" I lean into the van and try to ignore the blood. "They're rigged," I tap the door. "Hello?" 

"There's a bomb on the door," a girl calls out. 

"Jayk, they're all rigged," I look back at him. His eyes scan the van and he nods. 

I go around and climb into the van from the front. There's a silver cage blocking the back area. There's no way for me to remove it. 

"Are you seeing this?" Leelie calls out. 

"Hi," I wave at the little girls inside of the van. They look terrified. "My name is Dagmar. I'm going to need your help, okay?" 

"We're stuck," the girl who had answered me before sits up.
