Chapter 33: Identical Problems

Ella’s POV

It had been days since the pharmacist had exposed my secret to the whole class and nothing bad had happened. I knew this was partly because Selena wasn’t back yet. I was hoping my classmates wouldn’t spread the news and this way, Selena’s pawns wouldn’t get to know about it either.

My already low profile grew even lower both in college and in the royal house because the last thing I wanted was for someone to call home and tell them about my condition.

My heart was constantly beating, and panic was my new companion. It was like I was carrying a ticking time bomb that could go off at any second.

“Hey…”

My thoughts abruptly stopped, and I turned to stare at my partner who seemed to have been nudging me for a while now.

“Are you okay?” she asked as she picked up her bag and got off the chair to pack her books.

My eyes followed her movements from her hands and back to her face, completely ignorant of what she meant. “Yeah, I am fine. Where are you going?”
