Seventeen: Feels good

Everything happens so fast. One minute I'm emptying my bladder, and the next, I see a black beast come out from nowhere and lunge at Roy and it seems like he can’t sense it.

The beast has a sinister aura radiating off of it. It looks like a wolf but it’s more hideous with red glowing eyes and razor-sharp teeth. Its fur is as black as coal.

“Roy, behind you!” I scream, calling him by his name as my heart leaps to my throat.

It’s too late though because the beast is fast. It claws at his back and pushes him to the ground, pinning him down while snarling dangerously.

‘Run. As fast as you can and don’t look back,’ Roy’s voice echoes in my head reminding me that he can mindlink me even though I'm not part of his pack.

My stomach twists as I go into panic mode. I stand frozen, staring at the scene in front of me with my heart in my throat.
