"Aaahh!!" I could not help but exclaim softly. I was in so much pain that tears rolled down my face and I almost swore out loud.
"Scarlett, This is Eric. I am not afraid of anyone. " He bent down near my ear.
"Of course, you aren't afraid," I paused. "Why would you?" Like all the other times his proximity wasn't terrifying me.
But something was there at that moment. That told me this wasn't the same Eric that I know all these times. Although this thing knocked my head many times.
Everything that happened is for good. I was running away from my own family. I was trying to find love, care, trust, and protection where it's not even possible.
When I saw he wasn't leaving me, I wiggled in his hold. I tried to free myself from him.
