Chapter 98: DEVON

I wish Quinn hadn't brought that shit up now. It kinda tainted the glow of the last few days. Since we weren't doing anything and it was raining cats and dogs I'd dedicated the time to getting to know her.

I learned by watching and listening that even though she was indeed the innocent I'd first perceived her to be, she was also smart as fuck.

I let her come to me, just to be sure that this truly was what she wanted and not something new that she was fascinated by.

I don't know a lot about being in love, but I took the fact that she loved being close to me, or was always touching me in some way to mean something.

Or the way she likes to climb into my lap to be held when she's tired. In short, I saw in her the same things I was feeling myself.

The cincher was the night I watched her sleep and she called out my name with a sigh before rolling into me and settling against my heart.

If I weren't in love with her before, that would've done it for me
