Chapter Twenty-six

I couldn't sleep properly throughout the night as I was worried Xander would do something to me, but surprisingly he slept soundly for someone who claimed to be sick.

I stared at his sleeping face with a smile, my eyes moved to his lips and I wish I could kiss him.

I moved my face closer to his as I contemplate kissing him, he could wake up and I would be in trouble.

Isn't that part of seduction though? I should give it a try, I moved my face closer and our lips were a few inches away from each other.

"You must be out of your mind Marianne," I scolded myself and withdraw, as I tried to check the time I felt a movement beside me.

I turned to see Xander smiling lovingly at me. "Good morning, how do you feel?" I rushed my words as I felt like a rain-drenched chicken.

"I would have felt better if you didn't change your mind," he replied and I got his message.

"I will ask the maid to serve you breakfast in bed, you should rest for the day. I won't bother you," I changed
