“How many are coming, mom?”

“Only one, honey. But I need you to go behind the fence, we don't know this cow’s temper.”

Jacob stopped the truck with the trailer when Taylor fell to her feet on the other side of the fence.

“Hey, baby,” My boyfriend greeted me as he got out of the truck.

“Hello, handsome.”

I kissed him back with pleasure, ignoring my daughter's complaints a few feet from us, and walked away to open the trailer.

“How was the trip, Jeff?” I said when I saw Jacob's right hand, and who went with him to Seattle to rescue a dairy cow that would’ve been taken to the slaughterhouse for not producing enough milk. Fortunately, one of the managers knew about The Eden and had contacted Jacob, who didn’t hesitate to drive more than six hours to safe the cow.

“It was okay, Vivi. Though I don't know how you can stand this guy, he snores a lot,” The foreman complained, though he never lost his smile.
