The next morning, the grand dining room of the mansion was filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the clanking of silverware against porcelain plates, and the chattering of women. Alexander sat at the head of the long mahogany table, his posture exuding dominance and authority. He was dressed in a black three-piece suit that emphasized his broad shoulders and lean frame. His hair was slicked back, revealing his chiseled jawline and piercing blue eyes.

As Amelia entered the dining room, her gaze was fixed on Alexander. Her heart raced as she wondered if he had discovered her secret, if One had betrayed her. She wore a simple white dress that fell just above her knees, her long brown hair pulled back into a ponytail.

"Good morning, Sir," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
