Chapter 30

STELLA

He turns, so he is slightly standing and kneeling on the bed at the same time. He reaches over and grabs for my ankle, but I manage to move it out of the way and kick him in the jaw. Knocking him to the side and allowing me to scramble off the bed.

I run over to the door and even though my hands are still bound; I manage to wrap my hands around the handle. I take a surprised, relieved breath in when it opens. However, that relief doesn’t last long, because when I open the door more it is then suddenly forced closed and I can feel him pressed up against my back.

A shiver goes through me as he growls low and grabs my upper arms, pulling me from against the door. He turns me and throws me back toward and onto the bed. As he walks back over to the side of the bed, he reaches into and removes something from his pocket.

It takes me a moment to realise, as he slides it through his fingers, that it is a small piece of thin rope. Fear runs through me as I don’t know what he is plann
