Chapter 55

AURORA

I woke early the next morning. Thanks to my mother and her original slave routine for my father, we learned everything. My mother taught me and all my brothers how to cook and clean, and that was on top of our royal duties under Father.

I stretch and climb out of the bed; I head back into the closet, pull off and fold the shirt I wore to bed, and then slip back on the dress I was wearing yesterday. I come out, make the bed, leave the cord in pieces on the floor by the post and then go and stand by the window.

I look outside and I must admit it looks absolutely beautiful, with wood surrounding all sides, it seems. I would love to let Ariel out to run through those woods. She would have so much fun and it would be all new.

We could get lost in there for days. I hear the door unlock and open but I don't move, making whoever comes in think that I don't know that they are there. I then hear a low, rough male laugh.

"Well, that didn't seem to hold you, did it?"

"Seems not!"
