Chapter 98

LOGAN

I finish my conversation with Magnus and sneak away from the packhouse after Alpha Emmett gives me Melanie's report of the exact location where my father was using Toby to hold Aurora. I make sure to keep my scent to a minimum and where needed; I take to the trees going high above their heads. It doesn't take me long to find where they have parked the truck with the hidden cage on the back.

I sit in a large tall tree not far from the truck and watch as Toby walks around the truck and lifts the material that is hiding the cage underneath. I have to fight Magnus as we are hit with a wave of Aurora's heat pheromones, as he wants to race down there and relieve her of the pain and agony we caused her to be now suffering.

He nearly wins when we hear someone approaching. We both growl low as we see King Alpha Gabriel walk out of the woods and stop in front of Toby. Toby isn't surprised to see him. It actually seemed like he was expecting him, as he says,
