Chapter. 23.******When he finally got the nerve to open the door, the room was exactly what he had expected. Plain, neat, and smelled of chemicals that made his nose burn and his eyes water slightly. His eyes scanned the grey walls and the pieces of furniture, trying to avoid landing in the center of the room where he knew his lover was lying. Eventually, he couldn't avoid it any longer and he lets them fall to Levon's limp form tucked under the pristine white sheets and what looked like at least a hundred blankets. Levon looked like a mannequin, a life-sized doll of some sort in that bed. He looked so pale, so still and lifeless. The white sheets surrounding him only worsened the paleness of his skin, so much that he would almost look like a ghost, were it not for the dark bags underneath his eyes. His mouth parted slightly as his head lay back against the pillow behind him. He thought he had cried enough but the tears that began to roll down his cheeks this time were like a river
Chapter. 24.******"I'm sorry," he cries, still clawing desperately at Levon's arm. He thought he felt his finger move but it could be his own imagination tricking him. "I'm so sorry, I-'' he's hyperventilating, unable to force oxygen into his lungs through his broken pleading, but he doesn't stop. He couldn't; he's hysterical now, and he needs his lover to open his eyes. "Please... Please, wake up, Louis." He doesn't. His eyes stayed closed, his body stayed deathly still, and Dylon stayed crying over him like his tears would magically undo all the pain he had inflicted on his lover. Like they would somehow take back all the things he had said and done. Like they would wake Levon up.They won't. He knows that, but it doesn't stop him from soaking the thin fabric of Levon's hospital gown with the river pouring from his eyes, and it doesn't stop his pleading. He kept crying over his lover and nothing anyone with him said could get him to stop and they all tired seeing as his pain was
Chapter. 25.******Vera's heels clicked on the ground beneath her as she strides down the sidewalk, feeling soaked from hate and frustration from the way Dylon had treated her. She could see her reflection out the corner of her eyes in the shop windows, a bright pink crop-top with matching lipstick. She foams in anger. How could he treat her that way but what annoyed her more was the fact that that idiot had missed the target. How hard could it be to take someone down? That fool and she had even fucked him as payment. She went dirty on a complete dweeb for nothing. She had wanted Levon gone so she could have Dylon's focus directed completely on her, but it backfired majorly. She knows she would have to kick it into high gear in order to draw Dylon's love and attention back to her. Levon thinks he has won this round, no, far from it. She always finds her way around. The only mystery in HillsBay is her and no one dares catch up to that mystery. She would destroy Levon, for making Dylon
Chapter. 26.******She thought they were supposed to be best friends. Why would she want to speak to her brother in private? Maybe because she had arrived at the hospital without telling her. She had left them all at school so she could be here in time and even with all her effort, a nurse had gone to get Dylon who for some reason didn't show up until his sister appeared and now she's trying to take him away again. The hospital was unusually empty, there weren't many people visiting that afternoon, and the few that were had already entered their loved ones' rooms, leaving the hallways mostly empty except for the nurses rushing around. Vera doesn't particularly like hospitals. The strange quietness of the building doesn't really help her apprehension, as it leaves the hospital feeling like the setting of horror movies more than anything else. She didn't care about the people who had ended up in this place nor did she care about the one she knew was in a coma but she was after the one
Chapter. 27.*********~~***A very painful smile tugged at Danny's lips and his heart ran cold. He shook his head and walked away calmly shutting the door behind him, giving them their privacy. He has just one safe place and he sought his way towards his home office. He had just made it down the hall when he heard Louis and another stranger whispering among themselves. "What do you mean, we can't carry on with the plans anymore?" JC fired angrily. "I put my ass on the line for this shit and you're backing down at the last minute?" "JC for fucks sake, shut up and listen!" Louis bawled and Danny was taken aback by the tone of his voice. "Danny was nearly raped by someone I just heard is his half-brother, do you fucking have any idea how devastated he is right now?" "There is no better time for him to know the truth than now. Your mother and that Vince guy are probably fucking their brains out as we speak and your father can't be kept in the dark anymore, he has to know the truth, yo
Chapter. 28.******Another restless night went by with Dylon by his lover's side, his hands still gripping tightly to those of the unconscious boy and Dylon endured his constant groans while Levon slept. It was a sound that often breaks the little hanging piece of sanity he still holds and each time his lover groans in agony, Dylon feels his guilt flare up, a reminder of how badly he had messed up. He's tried to do all he could, day and night in an attempt to provide his lover with even just a small amount of serenity as he sleeps unconsciously of the world and of him who had broken him and had left him for dead. The past few days had been hell and he had refused to leave that bedside from unfounded fear that Levon might cease to exist if he took his eyes off of him. He'd taken shorter naps at nights and none at all during the day and he was always found sitting in the same chair he'd sat in from the first day he had arrived, with his head resting on Levon's legs and hand still inte
Chapter. 29.******Dylon continued to stare at his lover, feeling an entire range of emotions that are so conflicting it makes his head spin. He's so relieved that Levon is going to be alright, that the person who had shot at him hadn't succeeded. He's happy to see him awake, even if he hadn't remembered him now, he didn't even remember his own name. But, at this time he was afraid for him to wake up again because the second he's awake and aware enough to remember what had happened, he'll have to deal with the fallout from their fights. He's afraid Levon will never want to see him again after what happened between them and he doesn't know what he'd do if Levon should tell him that. He's never regretted anything more than he regrets what he's done to Levon. How badly he had hurt him over and over and wouldn't stop until he had almost lost him.Would he have given in to his lover if he hadn't gotten into that crash?Would he have continued to push him away?He shook his head, trying t
Chapter. 30.******"Levon-" he tries to speak, but whatever he wants to say is lost in the sea of unintelligible sobs, and the heart-wrenching sounds are the things that caused Levon's eyes to flicker over to him in concern. He still doesn't say anything, still doesn't move to comfort his soulmate but he does keep a sad frown painted on his face and his lips twisted into a pout-like frown and he watches Dylon struggle for words. "I missed you," is all he managed to say, and Levon merely clenches his jaw in response as his gaze darts away pausing on the thick bandage wrapped around his left arm becoming aware of the sudden pain he feels in that area, before mumbling groggily."What happened to me there?" Dylon swallows and stares everywhere but at him. "You got shot." "That's where I got shot, yeah."Dylon winces, "Y-Yeah...," he replied tiredly."Have they figured out who did it?" Dylon looks towards the ground and has to take deep breaths to steady himself before he speaks again.
