CHAPTER FORTY-NINE

Kelvin's P.O.V

I was roused from sleep by a gentle tap on my back. My weak and tired eyes opened gradually as I sat upright, an action that I promptly regretted due to the merciless pounding in my head.

"Fuck," I muttered, wincing as I instinctively cradled my throbbing temples.

"That's the price you pay for indulging in excessive drinking. You'd better hurry and get ready. We can't afford to delay ADOWNS Limited any further. We've already given them our word this time," a voice chimed in, familiar yet distant through the haze of my discomfort.

I raised my gaze to find my best friend and secretary, Owen, sipping his tea while already dressed.

'How did I end up like this?' I pondered, my thoughts struggling to piece together the previous night's events before the memories rushed back.
