Kelvin's P.O.V I let out a groan as I felt a gentle tap on my skin, pulling me from my peaceful slumber. "What is it, Mom?" I murmured, pressing my face against the soft pillow. "You're nearly late for work again! Hurry, take a quick shower, get dressed, and stop watching that movie. I told you to avoid it, but you never listen," she scolded. Anika's P.O.V I found myself on the couch in my office, having finished my work, but suddenly feeling bored. To pass the time, I grabbed my phone, unlocked it, and began scrolling through my gallery. As I went through the pictures, my mood shifted when I stumbled upon the folder I had created of Richard. Without hesitation, I clicked on it. As the photo opened, I zoomed in, studying it closely. Memories of Richard flooded back, and I couldn't help but miss him dearly. His smile and everything about him – he looked so handsome in this picture. Kelvin's P.O.V The lunch with the receptionist, Marbella (Mara for short or Mirabel, as she informed me), felt somewhat uncomfortable. Once I finished eating, I left the cafeteria mainly because of the discomfort caused by the stares and whispers from the other ladies there. I was used to this attention, but occasionally it got creepy and disturbing. All I wanted was to enjoy my meal in peace, nothing else. Heading back to the office, I noticed Stephen sorting some things out. She looked up and smiled at me, the same warm smile she had given earlier before I went to the cafeteria. It struck me as unusual, but I didn't dwell on it for long. Soon, a female staff member informed me that the department manager was calling for me. Kelvin's P.O.V I sat down on the floor beside my boss, the sassy woman, who was still asleep. Even in her slumber with her eyes closed, she looked pretty. Her hair cascaded softly against the couch, and her lashes rested gently on her cheeks. As she adjusted slightly on the couch, her lips stretched, creating a charming dimple before returning to their peaceful state. Mesmerized, I watched her sleep, and when I noticed some strands of hair on her face, my fingers instinctively moved to gently brush them away. I found myself unable to withdraw my hand and, instead, it continued down her face, cupping her cheek. My thumb tenderly touched her soft lips, and for a moment, I felt the urge to move closer and kiss her. However, I abruptly stopped myself, realizing how inappropriate and wrong it would be. Laura's P.O.V OMG, Steve was kissing me! I never thought it would happen in a million years, but it did. My heart raced as I stood there, frozen, with Steve's hands on my waist and his lips on mine. They were so soft and warm, and I couldn't bring myself to push him away. Eventually, I managed to pull away from the kiss and collect my thoughts. I wanted to ask him why he did it, to scream at him, but my brain froze, and I chickened out at the last moment. "I'm going now," I said hurriedly and walked quickly to my room without looking back at him. Once inside my room, I couldn't face anyone. I felt confused and frustrated with myself for not reacting strongly, like slapping him or yelling. Leaving without doing anything felt unreal. I felt deeply hurt and betrayed as if my heart had been shattered into pieces. Though a part of me wanted to lash out and unleash my anger on him, I managed to remain composed. Why did he choose to come here? I was finally starting to move on from the pain he caused, but his mere presence reignited the memories of our past together. It reminded me of the false love he once portrayed, and how I had been deceived by this monster. After an awkward silence, I finally found the courage to speak. "Why are you here?" "Yes, after much thinking and consideration, I realized that I was just being selfish not to give you a second chance. "I still can't believe this," he said, and I smiled. "You better believe it." After talking for a while and catching up on things, he hung up, promising to make it up to me and treat me right.
