I nearly dropped his phone when he spoke behind me. Turning to look at him, he looked steadier on his feet and didn’t appear to be as drunk.

“Weren’t you just so drunk you were falling over?”

“Wolf metabolism. It’s amazing, no?” He gave me a look like I should know this, but my metabolism was no where what his apparently is. So that means when he was drunk that one night not so long ago, he wasn’t as drunk as I thought he was.

“Well, mine doesn’t work that way.” Handing him back his phone, I went to the fridge and pulled out some sliced cheese and butter. “Want a grilled cheese?”

“Sure. It would definitely help soak up the rest of the alcohol.”

“Oh, you’re not getting off that easily.”

“What do you mean?”

“We’re going to play a shot game.” Moving to the oven I started a burner and put a pan on it. “It’s time for you to be honest with me.”

“I have been honest with you.” Looking over my shoulder I stared at him. “Well, as close as I can be to honest.”
