“Carnelia,” his chest is heaving. “You marked me again.”

“Well you bit me first,” I smirk. “And I didn’t hear you complaining about it last night.” I try to adjust my dress from a seated position having done a poor job of lacing my corset by myself, but my fingers seem to not be working as they should, distracted as I am by his predatory gaze. Since our mating, his need for me has become ravenous and all-consuming as if one taste of me was enough to spiral him into addiction. It is a miracle he ever lets me out of bed.
