Chapter 17: In Which He Shows Up
A week of stolen kisses and sneaky romance passed by since they made their relationship official. The sneaking around had its own thrill and they had both gotten pretty good at it, plus, Isla had made it a habit to sneak over to the pool house and sleep on top of him instead of in her own bedroom and since then Alexander had been distracted enough from thoughts of her on his mind that his nightmares had gotten infrequent and he was getting proper sleep, waking up in the morning to the beautiful sight of her face.
Mr. Gambino was holding his annual party at night. He hosted one every year apparently it was a Gambino family tradition. Isla was skipping around the mansion with Ace, looking at all the decorations, Alexander close behind.
"Miss Prim always does an immaculate job with the party planning even last year masquerade theme party was well planned" Isla complimented as Ace ran off to annoy one of the workers by tugging at their pants.

Alexander woke up to the buzzing of his phone on the bedside table as he squinted at the faint blue light the illuminated from the phone.He looked down at Isla who was soundlessly sleeping on him, making him her personal mattress, she stirred a little at the commotion but went right back to her slumber as Alexander's fingers weaved through her silky strands with one hand as he picked up and answered his phone with the other, looking at the caller ID to see it was one of the security team members."What is it?" he asked, voice groggy as he massaged his temples to get the sleep away."We have an urgent thing to take care of. Meet us at the compound in ten to lay out the plan" the guard said making Alexander scowl."Fucking hell. "Oh my god what happened!" she exclaimed out rushing to his side.He was on the bed, shirtless, with a white bandage wrapped around his abdomen and a little blood peaking out from the left side.He knew she was going to freak out as much as he didn't want her to, it was inevitable even though he had gone through a lot worse.She was by his side inspecting him in no time as her eyes glassed over with tears at the sight of him hurt."Hey, it's okay it's okay. A week and a half passed to Alexander's injury, his stitches, even though healed were still a little sore but it was nothing he couldn't handle.During that whole time his little girlfriend had acted like a mother hen, making him food, feeding it to him and once she even went as far as offering to take him to the bathroom to which he declined with great emphasis. It was quite adoring for him that she was caring for him like that but only to a point and that line was drawn on when she made that offer. It was yet again one of those days where Alexnder was nowhere to be seen the whole day because of him being away on another one of those missions and Isla had an incredibly boring day.She wanted to see him as soon as possible at night so she decided to just have dinner with at the pool house, have whatever he was gonna have, hence, she retired to her room earlier than usual without dinner and got ready to sneak out to see her boyfriend.As usual, almost like second nature she stepped on the nearest branch of the tree out of the window and got a wise grip on the one above, then she placed her right foot on the branch below the one she was on, this one was a little less thicker than the one she was already standing on.
