Sapphire

Indigo had left right after Brekkie. He was meeting with someone about his tattoo shop. I told him not to worry since Dylan had texted me and said they would be home in an hour. Mel and I sat on the couch to watch tv and wait for the guys. I was hurting, so I had no choice but to take one of my pain meds. I laid down and fell asleep at some point. I woke up to voices I knew, even if they sounded far away. That is the one thing I hate about those pain meds. They make me feel hungover.

“When did we get a cat?” Arlo asks.

“When I found him hungry, dirty, and in a bush on campus. This is Mel.” I said.

I yawned into the back of my hand as I went to sit up. I looked down, and Mel was not happy that we were moving. I admit that I was comfortable, and so was he.
