"Off-road? In a Toyota Corolla? Are you kidding me?!" I shout as he makes a sharp left turn and begins to follow the river.

"There is a hidden road not too far from here. We used to use it all the time during the Witch Wars." He explains. But none of what he is saying makes any sense.

"Witch Wars?"My voice is starting to become scratchy from all the screaming. "Damn it, Drew! What aren't you telling me?"

He doesn't answer. He is too busy controlling his car which is rolling over bumps and twigs like it was a new truck designed for offroading rather than being a simple family car that is almost 40 years old. He is going to have a lot of explaining to do when he gets back home, especially if he has to keep this trip a secret.

Something big must have happened at that party last night for him to be acting this strangely. Something terrifying. Drew isn't the type of wolf to go into dramatics over nothing. If he feels that Bash and I are no longer safe in Gold River, then there
