Chapter 48: Two Weeks Later

“Are you alright?” Monique asks me when she opens the door to the bathroom slowly. 

Raising my head up from the toilet, I barely get out, “Yes.” Before I throw up all over the floor.

With my stomach emptying everything inside it, I start to cry because I can only think of one reason and one reason only why this would happen.  As the tears of happiness flow from my eyes, Monique reaches my side and starts to rub my back.

“There, there.  It will be just fine.  I am sure it is just something you have eaten.”

The minute she says it, I raise my head up again and turn to her.  Staring into her eyes I can’t help but to laugh because she looks so serious.  “I’m pregnant.” I manage to say before another wave of nausea hits me hard and I lose whatever has remained in my stomach after the first several times.
