Chapter Twenty ▏The Fight

“Oh.” Alistair stares at me. “Is that true?”

I can’t speak. I try to open my mouth, but it seems like my jaw has been locked. I can’t even properly look him in the eye. All I know is that my skin is tingling from all the eyes that I can feel are on me, watching my every move.

But of course, I’m particularly wary of Briar.
