"Tell me more about my powers," I asked.

The oracle threw me a biased look, certainly realizing that I was collecting information without using any of my questions. And from the expression she made, I realized that no matter how great her satisfaction was in having visitors who were interested in knowing about her life in a very distant past, she was still well aware that we were only there to obtain knowledge.

"Is that your first question? "She said.

"Yes," I replied, crossing my hands on my lap. "What are the origins of my powers?

“Her first incarnation, Arianna, was a Banshee. There are many concepts of what a supernatural creature of this type can do. In general, they are very beautiful and cruel women who deceive humans and kill them. There are human legends about Banshees, popular stories in which humans easily confuse them with mermaids, sea creatures who also feed on the charm provoked in humans. Banshees can also sing, and their singing can seduce and hypnotize, without the person realizing that in fact they are having their brain turned into foam by Banshee's scream, "she narrated, casting a penetrating look at me. "With your singing, you can induce a human to do whatever he wants, be it a man or a woman. With your crying, you can feel the true intentions of a person. And with your scream... There are no limits to what your scream can do. There is more power in him than in any other part of his body, as you may have noticed in some moments of his journey.

"But I don't even know how to use these powers," I said, tilting my head slightly. "All I've done so far has been to ask for help and then something show up to save me. I've never felt really powerful.

The Oracle pointed to the center of my chest, where the necklace was located.

"The Lucifer necklace is a prototype of something that also exists in paradise. It is an artifact used by archangels to potentiate the use of their powers. You must have noticed that many times the magic that exists inside it burns or sparks. This is more than a mere radar of problems. It is an object that allows your magic to be released even if you do not know how to reach it, an easier shortcut in the face of dangerous situations. However, these powers are part of you. They're in your blood. All you have to do to access them is want to. Throughout all five centuries of your existence, you have fought against creatures who have tried to challenge your power. You killed innocents to maintain your joviality. You condemned your soul to hell for five centuries, because you always believed that the use of your powers would be strong enough to change the course of history. Even if never before this life have you realized that everything repeats itself, you have always been trying to use your powers to feel what none of the others could. And, I must admit, you have often come very close to avoiding coming to me.

"Even so, I always ended up stopping in front of you," I suggested, narrowing my eyes slightly.

"You've always been coming to me in search of something," she replied, and quickly looked away at Vraxlon, and back at me. "And this has always been the end of your young life. You have always condemned your future the moment when you decided to find a way to get more power or discover the traitor among the princes of hell. And yet, you never had to come to me. Your powers are greater than anything in the supernatural world. You defeated an archangel who was sent to capture her, defeated an aquatic creature that was sent to kill her, saved four human lives that were possessed by demons that took root in their bodies. If you think about it, there were never limits to what you could do. Even so, here we are, having the same conversation of five centuries.

"Even when I want to, I still don't feel like I can do anything. Every day I wonder how I can be the queen of a whole world, because I feel nothing more than a human who got lost in some way of life and ended up entering an extraordinary world, "I confessed. "I don't feel powerful.

"But you are," she said firmly. "In your first incarnation, you wrote the Grimoire of Shadows. A book that contained all the supernatural spells and rituals. You used part of your own magic to enclose the creatures that could be invoked with the book. There is power inside those pages. A drop of its power, and it is already strong enough that only a human sacrifice allows the book to be read. Can you imagine everything that was left inside you compared to this drop?

"But I feel like I'm not a big deal since I reincarnated in this new life," I indicated my body with a movement of my hands. "I returned without my powers. I came back weak. And everyone has always believed that the reason for this was due to so many reincarnations over the centuries.

"Everyone is wrong," she simply said. "You've never been weak. Magic cannot be totally removed from a supernatural creature. It is strongly linked to your soul. The only way to drain all power would be to disgrabbing the soul from the body. The truth is that your powers have always been asleep, and Lucifer's necklace made it easy for you to awaken them little by little. The reason why this is his last reincarnation is not related to the strength of his powers, but rather because of his choices along the way.

"So I don't need to read the book to access my powers," I said, looking away at Vraxlon. The warlord remained in a worried silence. "I always thought I could recover my magic if I could read it.

"You never lost the magic to need to recover it," replied the Oracle, also diverting his attention to Vraxlon. "However, it is true that over the centuries a spark of this power has been lost in every exchange of bodies, because of the decisions you made, the conditions that were imposed on you so that you could reincarnate. Understand, everything has a price. And, in fact, a small amount of your power was given to the time so that you could have a new chance "and she looked at me again. "But all of Banshee's powers reside in you. There is no creature like you in any world, be it human or supernatural. You are unique, Elena Flamel, and there are many other greatnesses waiting in your path. All you need to do is the right choice. All you need is more time.

"You talk so much about choices, but if it were so easy, you would have chosen to leave this place," I pointed out. "Destiny only exists because of you.

The oracle made a gesture that could be a carefree shrping.

"There is always a sacrifice to be made. I am stuck here, so that my sons and daughters have stories worthy of being lived. I'm the owner of everyone's Destiny, because I can't choose my own place in the world. But in your case, you have the right to live three worlds in one life. You are a human, but you were also made by Lucifer, and you have sentimental connections with the most powerful archangel in heaven. That's why I say again, Elena, you're unique. You just need time to make the right decisions. And by the time these decisions are made, you will be tracing the Destiny of all of us. Even mine. All the stories depend on yours. That's why you're expected so much. There are expectations hovering over your head, but there is only one certainty: You will have to make sacrifices so that you can achieve all this greatness. Even if you don't seem to be having choices, you will. And you need to choose with your heart. It's the only thing you have and none of us can copy it. The feelings that exist within you are unique and should not be ignored.

At this moment, Vraxlon moved by my side, clearly bothered. So far, the Oracle had not made any mention of his existence in my life. I hadn't even mentioned that my choice to live in hell would be because of him or any sentimental link that involved us. I was also surprised by this fact. If there weren't the few moments when Eva looked at the warlord next to me, recognizing his presence, I could say that there was no one but the two of us in that room.

"You talk so much about the time... "I started in a dry murmur, semi-closing my eyes. "It almost makes it look like he's an entity, just like you.

This time, an unmistakable smile bowed on the Oracle's lips. And she raised her eyes to the top, showing an aura of longing and affection.

"Time is more precise and impetuous than I do, I admit. But we learn together how much our choices can influence the lives of people who will depend on us in the future. "When she realized that I didn't understand bulhufas, she decided to clarify. "I wasn't the only one who became more than a mere sinner, dear Elena. Time is my greatest ally and partner, and together we write the stories of our children. We both depend on the choice you make here, today, so that one day we can find eternal rest. Because, so far, we are mere creatures doomed to observe the beginning and the end of all stories. But it's you who will change everything. You are the answer to all the greatest questions of humanity. Only you can prevent humans from being caught in the middle of a war between angels and demons. It is because of you that humanity still has hope. The daughter of Lucifer is also the only hope that all the evils that still perish on earth will be extinguished forever. Your true journey began on the day you decided to dedicate your life to answers to protect humans from books created by yourself. The day you chose to protect them and risk your own life. It was on that day that you really became the queen.

My head was spinning. Adam became Time. And Eva became Destiny. Together, but still separated. Each one working in a way so that humans could live in a world touched by sin and find redemption. It was the saddest love story anyone could have told me in my life.

"Perhaps it's true what they say about not every love story having a happy ending," I commented softly.

The Oracle cast a very sorry look at Vraxlon, and I also turned to look at him, the warlord seemed nauseated and in shock. I didn't like the feeling of trembling that ran through my body, in a very ominous omen.

"Not every love story has a happy ending," she repeated, and when she looked into my eyes with a glow of sincerity and sadness, I noticed that there was a very sudden statement in her words. Then I understood that she said this directly to Vraxlon and me. We wouldn't leave there together. And I had a slight impression that the prince had sensed this for a long time. "Even so, there are stories that deserve to be lived. And yours is one of them. Not only for the greatness that awaits her, but for the true friends on her way. For happiness in the few things. Because the fact that Elena Flamel was raised in a Catholic school made her see that human wickedness can come from even the most religious. Every being who decides to reincarnate can see from the beginning to the end of the life of those he chooses. You were chosen by Arianna, not only for her to save you from a terrible creation or a life of a blessed, but because she saw that a person like you would never be blinded by power. I would never trade friends for ambition. She saw that the best person to become the queen was the one who would have nothing else to lose, and who would still do everything to save others. You saved more than four humans, you saved three fallen angels from their own destruction.

I turned my head to watch Vraxlon, and he also watched me, taking my hand in yours. I had Vraxido the pity, I realized. Even if getting there would condemn me to another death. I had Vraxido the pena. For him, for Faye, and for Tennebris. Because I took them with me to the human world, I allowed them to feel emotions and sensations that they missed. I provided moments that would be engraved in their memories for the rest of their immortalities. And that was enough for me.
