Chapter 11: What happens in the Skol

What do you do when your Fated suddenly hugs you? My hands are stiff by my side as Lilac wraps her own arms around me, placing her head over my chest. I clench my fists, trying as much as possible not to let her form against me derail my thinking.

"Step back, Lilac" I finally speak. My voice demanding. She does, and I try to fight the low growl that escapes my mouth at the loss of her warmth.

"Oh shit.. I am so sorry, I don't know why I did that." It is the first time I hear her cuss out loud. She is blinking...rapidly. Seems like she does that when she is confused or nervous. I can still feel her warmth seeping through the thin material of my shirt. Her scent filling up my room like it belongs here. I sigh heavily, rubbing the bridge of my nose.

"Why are you here?" I ask again. My voice is gruff. I can't help the way my eyes rake over her body, lingering on where her dress begins to ride up slightly.

She frowns slightly, her cute button nose pucker
