Chapter 4 You Just Dragged Me into Hell

Maya expected the news reporters to be less relentless. They managed to find her and invade the late-night cemetery. Cold breath brushed the outer layer of her ear, and a chilly voice penetrated her ear canal as Samuel whispered, "Don't worry, I won't let them harass you."

Samuel Ren pulled Maya Lin, forcing her into the car to evade the news seekers trying to get information from her. The luxury sport car sped away, followed by several other vehicles. "They won't be able to catch us now. You should be grateful I'm here, allowing you to escape them. There's no choice but to come back with me," Samuel said with a sly smile.

"Stop the car!" Maya shouted.

"No," Samuel refused.

"Stop, or I'll jump out of this car," Maya threatened. Her hand was even holding the latch that would open the door.

Samuel quickly shifted the car into autopilot mode and grabbed Maya's arm. "Maya Lin, do you want to die?" he yelled angrily and panicked.

"Let me go. I don't care anymore," Maya struggled. "I'd rather die than go back. Samuel, I've forgotten everything. I don't want to remember how miserable I was as your wife. That house is full of painful memories, and now you're forcing me to go back there?"

"Maya, I'm not asking you to dwell on the past. That house is still just a house. You said you've moved on, so why are you afraid to return home?" Samuel continued trying to persuade her. "You can't die either. Our child is waiting for you. He's so excited. If you don't—"

"You're only thinking about that child. I don't care about what that child feels. My son won't be happy if I care for another child when I can't even care for myself. You take care of your child on your own." Maya glared at him, her eyes showing deep sadness.

"Maya Lin, you will regret putting that dead son above me!" Samuel said.

"Is this a threat? What else will you do to me? Aren't you satisfied with destroying my career and pressuring me? Are you only satisfied when I'm completely shattered?" Maya yelled in anger. This anger gave her strength, and she managed to break free and push him away.

Maya opened the car door, her body leaning out, ready to jump.

His eyes widened as something slipped from his grip, creating a loud noise as it fell. Little Master Stelio didn't know why the glass he was holding tightly suddenly dropped.

The nanny looked at him with concern. " Little Master, are you okay? I told you it's time to sleep." She quickly wiped the little boy's hands with a wet tissue. "Come inside, I'll apply some ointment."

Stelio refused his nanny's offer. Something didn't feel right in his heart. "Nanny, it seems something has happened to Mom and Dad. Quickly, call Dad now!" Stelio said with a pale face.

The nanny tried to reassure her young Master. "Little Master, you're worrying too much. Nothing's happened; Mr. and Mrs. are probably on a trip."

"Nanny, please, call my dad!" Young Master became increasingly agitated. He repeatedly urged his nanny.

"Alright, I'll call Young Master." The nanny took her phone and dialed Master's number.

The nanny's expression, initially calm, turned pale. She glanced towards Stelio with doubt in her eyes.

"Nanny, is something wrong?" Stelio was perceptive enough to notice her strange behavior. "Why are you so quiet? Tell me, has something happened to Mom and Dad?" Stelio pressed, his tiny heart pounding fast.

"Let's release me!" Maya screamed. Her body was tightly bound to the chair.

"You be quiet. I did you a favor by saving you. I'll release you once we reach the mansion," said the poker-faced man, driving the car at full speed. The man was none other than Samuel Ren.

"Did I ask you to save me? I already said I wanted out, dead or alive. Your actions only dragged me into hell," Maya Lin, the bound woman, retorted. Just minutes ago, she had almost escaped from this man. But who would have guessed his reflexes were so good? Samuel Ren's hand had pulled her back and closed the door before Maya could jump out.

"Maya Lin, you've survived this far. Why do you want to die now? If you had wanted to end your life right after you left a few years ago, you could have done so peacefully. Once you became someone my son desired, don't expect to leave this world!" Samuel maintained a calm expression, but his tone was filled with threat. His sharp eyes were fixed ahead, emanating an intimidating aura.

Maya clenched her fists, countering the pressure in the suddenly cold car with her own force. Maya wasn't backing down. Instead, the artist hurled a retaliatory attack at Samuel Ren, saying, "If you care so much about your son, why didn't you prevent the death of his mother?"

The composed face slowly faltered. The man's lips opened, but no words came out. Maya observed him. His expression looked strange, not like regret for failing to stop his wife's death but more like... "Maybe I misread his expression. I know Samuel loved a woman named Mathilda deeply," Maya thought.

Samuel unexpectedly replied with his expression returning to that blank face, "She found peace and happiness after leaving. Why should I have stopped her death?"

Maya grew angry. "So, you don't want to see me find peace?"

"Yes, you won't find peace. Even if you become a corpse, you won't be able to leave this world. Maya Lin, you haven't atoned for all the wrongs you've done. Do you think I'd let you go?" Samuel shot a sharp glance at Maya.

Maya forced a bitter smile. "Are all my sufferings not enough for redemption? Samuel, it's you and that woman who owes me! Do you know how difficult my life has been because of what you both did? If only time could turn back, I'd never have loved you!" Maya shouted.

The car suddenly sped up even faster. Maya began to panic. "Hey, are you trying to commit suicide? Even though I want to die, it's better not to die with you."

"Shut up!" Samuel snapped.

Samuel focused on driving, ignoring the phone vibrating in his pocket. He acted as if there was no time to waste in taking this woman who had infuriated him back to their home.

Maya felt dizzy and nauseous. She immediately vomited in the car. Samuel looked at her disgusted, but Maya ignored his gaze. "Samuel, stop the car! I'll vomit in your car if you don't let me go!"

"Your threats mean nothing to me!"

Maya felt frustrated. "I'm pregnant now! Are you going to marry a woman with another man's child?"

The car came to a sudden stop. The eyes, now tinged with red, stared at Maya intensely.
