Chapter sixty-eight

Ariah’s POV

We got into his car and he pulled out of the driveway, the car behind us did too.

"Who's behind us?" I asked. "I told you we weren't going alone." He replied. "It's a single-car convoy, do you feel a bit safer now?" He asked and I nodded. "Yes, that was thoughtful of you." I said. "Don't get funny ideas, you aren't that special to me. Maybe to Ethan, but not to me, I would have gone with that convoy even in your absence." He said flatly. "You didn't have to rub it in so harshly, you know.

" I remarked, grimacing at him. "Jeez, he was nicer when we first met, then he became an asshole when I became Ethan's property." I muttered under my breath and looked the other way.

"What was that?" He asked. "Nothing." I said, pouting out of the window. "I'm sure I heard something, Ariah, I don't mind dropping you right here, right now." He warned, but there was a humorous note to it that told me he was kidding. We had already left the pack and were currently driving literally in the
