Haden watched Janine’s wolf chase a rabbit through the woods on the way back to the packhouse. She was playing with the fluffy herbivore. Neither was hungry, he was sure of that after all the s’mores they’d eaten and dinner. But they needed time together. He knew she needed it to form a sense of trust between them, and he was sure she’d open up to him once that trust formed.
Once they’d shifted back to their human forms that didn’t bother to dress. Rather, they carried their clothes with them as they took the back stairs up to his apartment. “Come in and have a nightcap. We can relax and talk.”
