Injured Arabella

Alarabella said earnestly, "You helped me find a kidney donor for my grandmother, saving her life. You bought a house for our family, lifting us out of poverty. I'm incredibly grateful, my grandfather always taught me the importance of repaying kindness."

Reginald listened impassively until the last word. He lazily raised his eyelids without much emotion and asked, "Are you only grateful to me?"

Alarabella fell silent.

Once, if he had asked that, she would have answered without hesitation—beyond gratitude, there were feelings built over time.

But now, he had asked for a divorce, and he was getting close to Chloe. Holding onto any resentment would only make her seem cheap.
