"Water's fine."

Zachary followed Angeline into the kitchen. He stood on the other side of the kitchen island and watched as she boiled water to make tea.

He chuckled, continuing, "Miles once told me you're decisive, but I didn't believe him. But when I saw Ned on the couch just now, I realized Miles indeed knows you best."

Angeline glanced at him and snorted softly. She put a teabag into a cup and leaned against the island while waiting for the water to come to a boil. She didn't say anything.

"Is there really no way for you and Ned to return to how you used to be? You guys were so…"

Zachary hesitated.

"You refused to give up on him no matter how hard we tried to talk you out of it, and you two used to be so in love. Your love was strong enough to make us all believe true love existed. But now…"

"As you said, Miles knows me best."

Angeline poured the hot water into the cup and pushed it toward Zachary.

He looked down at the cup and sighed.

"He also said Ned wasn't the on
