Time seemed to be running fast, and yet the happenings were considered minimal and anti-climatic. It was as if that the time was just passing by and the event was nothing but an everyday life. At least, that is what most of the students feel like. It was the third week of September and at this time, not only is it the beginning of orientation and training of the new members of the club, but it is also the time for the quarterly midterm examinations.
The midterm examination was an assessment on how they were able to comprehend their learnings and also their memory. Everyone was on their edge, furiously reaching out to their hard-working classmates for notes, conducting group studies and even asking for tutors. They dreaded the P.E. subject more as it is more of the ap
SSHS 45 Just like before, just like what happened to Arthur’s and Aaron’s case, it seemed like it was a trend to have the characters freeze once they are presented or they have encountered such an extreme situation— or maybe it is the normal reaction to such things. After all, any person who was presented with a situation where their secret is unravelled, the only reaction that is appropriate for such a thing is to freeze, as the brain stopped working— or rather, took the time to stop all motions to focus everything about this. Finding a way out of this, averting her attention into something. He can’t let her find him out so soon. That would be a huge problem. &l
SSHS 46 On the way to the nearest infirmary, Albert needed to constantly fix his hold to Yulia. ‘Who knew that such a petite girl would weigh so much like this?’ he thought to himself as he fixed his hold of her for the fourth time as they neared the infirmary, she was always squirming and making some grunt noises as they walked to the infirmary, and so Albert needed to constantly fix his hold to her. It is a good thing that the clinic was placed on the first floor of the building or else it would be quite a hell— in his perspective at least. With both his hands occupied, he couldn’t kock, and so he just called out, “Hello? Is someone inside? Please open the door, I have an unconscious girl here!” he said as he used a foot to bang at the door.
SSHS 47 At first it was a buzz, then a second buzz and then it rang. Hastily pulling her phone out of her pocket, she quickly glanced at the caller and pushed the answer button. “Where are you right now? We have a meeting today, remember?” the person from the other end of the line said in annoyance to the receiver of the call. A little short of breath, she replied, “Sorry, an emergency occurred. A student collapsed in front of me and I had to bring her to the infirmary first. Don’t worry, I’m on my way there.” and with that, she ended the call. Not caring about what the other person might say when she arrived. Hestia ran as fast as she could into the building where the Student Council Office is located, not caring about the students who passed by her and attempted t
SSHS 48 It was silent now inside the Student Council Office, almost silent asn the three were discussing the contents of the order that will be sent to the emails of every Club President and also its officers. It only needs minimal editing as the concern was the grammar and the coherence of the content. Soon, it was sent and the members of the Student Council began their self- reviewing for the upcoming mid- quarter Examination. Then, all of a sudden, Excami asked, “So, who was the kid that needed to be brought to the infirmary?” She did so while simultaneously tapping Hestia’s shoulder. They are sitting beside each other on one of the sofas after all. However, the latter only spared her a glance before answering in a brief manner. “Yulia Don Br
SSHS 49 The ride to the House of Don Brook was ather silent, unexpectedly. It seemed that the bubbly and cheery Yulia was out of energy, rendering her not so cheerful and silent as she leaned her head on Hestia’s shoulder. No one bothered the tired Ylia, not even Hestia who was deep in her thoughts. ‘Should I tell her parents? Directly or implicitly? Should I just ask her parents about these things in a roundabout way? Bu7t her parents would definitely be suspicious of me. Or should I just directly speak to their doctor? That would be suspicious too.’ She let out a heavy and stressful sigh as she pondered and contemplated more about what she is going to do once they have arrived at the Don Brook house. She can’t
SSHS 50 Mr. Tingco was glued on his seat as he slowly nodded to what Hestia had asked him. He wasn’t really sure if it is okay for him to talk, he can’t be too sure exactly. However, there was no order that he can’t talk, and also, his wireless radio’s mic is not open right now— to be exact, it needs to be manually tapped before the lines could communicate with each other. Though, he still needed to be careful on how he would respond and how this conversation with Hestia would go, they can never be too careful, someone might be watching them. “Hestia, is the Miss okay?” The driver asked. He then looked at the rear view mirror that Miss Yulia is alright and soundly sleeping, leaning
SSHS 51 The clanking of metals and the tools banging against each other echoes inside the little room. On the sides of the room were shelves upon shelves— all containing boxes of different sizes and labels: a big box of varying colours of wires, a small box of plastic cartridges, and even a big box labelled as ‘snacks’ which are mostly just a pile of empty containers. In one of the corners of the room was a table, a studying table to be exact. Although, just like the room itself, it was also full of mess: tiny drawers containing delicate parts for anything that was labelled too, a board full of tools hanging from it and the top of the table were just full of trimmings and such, that having it to be recognized as a table would be a slim chance. All of a
SSHS 52 There was a full on fight on every corner surrounding the Don Brook house. People clad in shadow— dressed in all black from head to toe are fighting those who are wearing coats, with a white shirt underneath, pants of dark grey and a vintage brown coloured loafers shoes. There were also the sound of slashing and clashing knives, there were sounds of explosion all around, and the endless grons of those who got hit with a punchor a kick. It was a total battle field— —Agent 101 was busy fighting three people at once. All were dressed in black and their faces were covered by a mask so it was hard to identify from which group they were from. The first to strike were aiming their punch to Agent 101’s face, but luckily, he evaded it. He then countered with a
