Avery huffed. "Seriously? That's your way out?"

"What other punishment is there for you to mete out?" He stepped out of the car and leaned on it. Because of this, he was standing too close to Avery for comfort.

She felt a tinge of emotion at their closeness. She swallowed hard and took a step back.

"Isn't that the general thing? Employees get fired on a daily basis from coming late to work, especially on the first day," he teased.

Avery laughed and threw her car keys at him. "You are driving," she muttered and started the walk away, expecting Grey to follow behind.

Grey regarded her for a moment before he locked his car and followed Avery. He quickly sent a message to Maximo, asking for the location of the special members.

Avery leaned against her car, waiting for him with a cute frown on her face.

"Where are we going?"
